Explorer's Pass FAQs

  • General Questions

Is the Explorers Pass just for children, or can anyone check one out?

Most passes are for all ages! Many of the passes simply state “valid for one free admission” and Library cardholders of any age can check one out. The Cox Science Center pass allows for up to one child age 3-12 and/or up to one adult to receive free admission. The Lighthouse ArtCenter pass allows for one free adult and one free child. The Schoolhouse Children’s Museum pass allows for one free child’s admission accompanied by one paying adult.

How can I find out more about the different venues?

The Explorers Pass homepage links to all of our participating venues. Just visit https://www.pbclibrary.org/explorerspass/ and click on Partner Venues before planning your visit to get the most up-to-date information on operating hours, special exhibits, etc.

Can I visit the same venue each month?

To ensure that as many of our Library members as possible get to experience the different venues, you may only check out a pass to the same venue up to 3 times per year.

How many passes can I check out?

Library cardholders can check out one Explorers Pass per month, per Library card.

Are these passes really free? That’s so generous of the venues!

They are really free. We love our partners and they love our community. The Palm Beach County Library System thanks all of our participating venues and is thrilled to work together to share everything Palm Beach County has to offer. Get out there and explore!
