  • General Questions

    Adults who need help learning to read, write or speak English.

    Call the Adult Literacy Project at 561-894-7510 or 561-996-3453 (Belle Glade) for a brief telephone interview, and then schedule an in-person appointment for determining starting placement materials.

    • Adult Basic Education: Reading and writing skills through fifth grade.
    • Pre-GED: Reading and writing skills through eighth grade.
    • English Language Learners/English as a Second Language (ESOL).

    No. Lessons and materials are provided for free.

  • Tutors

    Most teams meet twice a week for 60 to 90 minutes at any library, public outdoor space or virtually online.

    No. Volunteers are required to attend orientation and training workshops. Prior experience or training may exempt a volunteer from the required training workshops.
