Canyon Branch Teen Advisory Board Presents: Create Your Own Book Cover Contest!

Do you love to draw? This is your moment to shine! The Canyon Branch invites all young artists, ages 6 to 18, to enter our Book Cover Contest—open to both in-person and online submissions. Submissions will be accepted from Tue, Jul 01 through Fri, Aug 01.

This contest was requested during one of our Teen Advisory Board (TAB) meetings, where teens at the Canyon Branch gather to plan events, share ideas and make the Library a more awesome place for everyone. Our teens are proud to lead this creative challenge!

Contest Categories:

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

  • Ages 6–12
  • Ages 13–18

Within each age group, artwork can be submitted as either:

  • Digital Artwork
  • Physical Artwork

That’s 4 total categories and 12 total winners! (First, second and third place in each category.)

To keep this a safe and respectful space for all library members, all entries must follow these guidelines:

In-person voting will take place from Fri, Aug 08 through Thu, Aug 21 at the Canyon Branch. Library members will be able to collect a ballot from the staff at the Children’s Desk to vote on their favorite book cover. All entries will be evaluated based on creativity, effort, public vote and overall design. After member voting ends, a panel of judges consisting of staff and teen volunteers will hold an evaluation meeting to select the top three winners in each category.
