The Library has compiled resources to make flood protection information readily available. Follow these links to access books and online resources to help you stay safe. These links are also listed under our Resources tab, under the subject "Flood Protection."
- Flood Protection Library: A collection of nine Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) publications on flood protection topics housed in the Library and indexed in the Library’s automated catalog.
- Locally Pertinent Documents: Documents housed in the Library and indexed in the Library’s automated catalog that cover flood hazards, flood protection, and natural floodplain functions and also are keyed to local conditions.
- FEMA Media Library: The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s online library of full-text resources and documents.
- Palm Beach County Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan: The Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) establishes the framework to ensure that Palm Beach County will be adequately prepared to deal with all hazards threatening the lives and property of Palm Beach County citizens.
- Palm Beach County Disaster Recovery Plan: The Palm Beach County Disaster Recovery Plan (Plan) provides an operational overview and organizational framework which will be implemented during the four phases of the disaster recovery process.
- Palm Beach County Flood Zone Map Viewer: The Palm Beach County Flood Zone Map viewer application allows residents to type in their address and see their flood zone designation.
- Palm Beach County Local Mitigation Strategy: The Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) is a unified, coordinated effort among County and municipal governments to reduce the county's vulnerability to the impacts of identified natural and man-made hazards.
- Palm Beach County Post Disaster Redevelopment Plan: The Post Disaster Redevelopment Plan is action-oriented and outlines a countywide implementation approach. Through an Executive Committee representing county, municipal, non-profit, and private stakeholders and a flexible Working Group structure, actions outlined in the plan can be implemented as needed regardless of jurisdictional boundaries and possible staffing fluctuations in a post-disaster environment.
