The Palm Beach County Library System is an official Passport Acceptance Facility for the U.S. Department of State.
Passport Service Options
The Palm Beach County Main Library offers Routine and Expedited processing options. Processing times vary. Visit the U.S. Department of State website for up-to-date information.
By Appointment Only
Please call the Palm Beach County Main Library Passport Acceptance Facility (561-233-2788) voicemail to schedule an appointment. A passport application acceptance agent will respond within 24 hours, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).
Appointment Times
Free parking, handicap access and photocopy service (for a nominal fee) available.
Urgent Travel Plans
If you are traveling within 14 days or less, apply at a nearby Regional Passport Agency or Center. For more information, please call the National Passport Information Center (NPIC) at 1-877-487-2778.
Photo Requirement
Passport photo service is currently not available at the Palm Beach County Main Library. One official passport photo taken within the past six months is required. For additional photo requirements, visit the U.S. Department of State website.
Before Scheduling an Appointment
Customers are encouraged to visit the U.S. Department of State website for information and instructions prior to their appointment.
Necessary Documents
Proof of U.S. Citizenship (any one document, must be original)
- Previously issued, undamaged U.S. passport
- Certified U.S. birth certificate
- Consular Report of Birth Abroad or Certification of Birth
- Certificate of Naturalization (applicants 15 or under must include a certified birth certificate)
- Certificate of Citizenship (applicants 15 or under must include a certified birth certificate)
Proof of Identification (any one document, must be original)
- Previously issued, undamaged U.S. passport
- U.S. Driver’s License (if out of state Driver’s License, additional identification required)
- Certificate of Naturalization
- Current government employee ID (city, county, state or federal)
- Current U.S. military ID
Payment Information
Two separate payments are required. One to the U.S. Department of State and the other to the Palm Beach County Library System.
U.S. Department of State
The U.S. Department of State accepts only checks (personal, certified, cashier's, traveler's) and money orders payable to "U.S. Department of State".

Palm Beach County Library System
Customers must pay the Palm Beach County Library System a $35 nonrefundable execution (acceptance) fee per application. The Palm Beach County Library System accepts cash, debit and credit cards, cashier's check and money orders. Cashier's check or money orders must be made payable to "Palm Beach County Library System".

Passport Renewals
You can renew your passport by mail if:
- You have your expired passport in your possession to submit with your application and it's undamaged (except for normal wear and tear)
- Your expired passport was issued when you were age 16 or older AND within the past 15 years
- Your expired passport was issued in your current name OR you can document your name change
