#SecondChanceMonth: Life After Incarceration

April marks Second Chance Month, a time dedicated to supporting individuals seeking to rebuild their lives after incarceration. It's a reminder of the power of redemption and the potential for personal growth.

During Second Chance Month, communities come together to advocate for policies and programs that facilitate successful reentry into society. These efforts include providing access to education, job training, mentorship programs and legal assistance. By offering these resources, we empower individuals to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.

Locally, more than 1,700 people exit prison, jail or juvenile facilities each year. People who have a criminal history face stigmas and barriers to meeting basic needs. That's why the Library is proud to partner with the Plam Beach County Public Safety Department and other community advocates in this effort.

We are hosting an engaging book discussion of "This Is Ear Hustle," by Nigel Poor and Earlonne Woods this month so mark your calendars and check out the event here.
