July is a Gender Blender
During July we encourage you to celebrate two international holidays that blur the lines on gender expression.
International Nonbinary People's Day — July 14
July 14 is International Nonbinary People's Day.
Biological sex in humans includes males, females and intersex individuals. (those who naturally have the genetics and physical characteristics of both human males and females) Being nonbinary is not about biological sex. It is about how a person chooses to express or not express their gender.
You have experienced gender whenever you hear expressions like "he's a man's man," "he's kind of effeminate," "she's a girly girl" or "she's a real tomboy." People express their gender by the way they act and how they dress. Men who wear flannel or paint their nails are expressing different aspects of gender. Women who wear makeup or combat boots are doing the same.
The day was chosen because it is halfway between International Women's Day and International Men's Day.

International Drag Day — July 16
Speaking of dressing up and gender expression, July 16 is International Drag Day.
Drag Queens and Drag Kings are pros when it comes to gender expression, playing with some of the extreme ends of femininity and masculinity in their costuming, performance and art.
International Drag Day is a day meant to celebrate these colorful and determined performers of an art form intimately associated with the LGBTQ+ community.
