Canyon Branch Teen Advisory Board Presents: Create Your Own Book Cover Contest – Winners Announcement!

The Canyon Branch invited all young artists, ages 6 to 18, to enter our Book Cover Contest—open to both in-person and online submissions. Submissions were accepted from Tue, Jul 01 through Fri, Aug 01, 2025. A total of 12 entries were submitted!

Entries were categorized by age group (6-12 or 13-18) and by entry type (physical and digital). There were a total of 11 children’s entries, 4 physical and 7 digital. There was only 1 teen entry that gave them a boost to First place for their age!

In-person voting took place from Fri, Aug 08 through Thu, Aug 21 at the Canyon Branch. Teen volunteers created a display showcasing the book cover design submissions. Library members completed ballots at the Children’s Desk to vote on their favorite book cover. Winning the public vote would give the entry a boost in their evaluation.

After the member voting ended, a panel of judges consisting of staff and teen volunteers held an evaluation meeting to select the top three winners in each category. All entries were evaluated based on creativity, artistic execution, and public vote. The winners were determined by their total evaluation scores.

Special thanks to the teen volunteers who contributed to this project. Our teens were proud to lead this creative challenge!
