    DESCRIPTION: Plans, supervises and coordinates the work of a large library branch. Interprets and explains library policies and procedures to the public and staff; resolves patron complaints /problems; prepares branch budget recommendations; monitors expenditures;  oversees  and  approves adult and youth programming. Trains and  directs  professional /other  Library  System personnel; writes performance evaluations; issues  counseling  forms/disciplinary  actions; handles  employee  complaints/grievances;  recommends  the  hiring,  promotion  and  termination of staff; performs related work as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree in Library Science accredited by the American Library Association; minimum of three (3) years of professional library experience  that  includes  two  (2) years of supervisory or administrative work.

    OTHER: Ability to lift 50 pounds preferred. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.

    PREFERENCE OF EXPERIENCE: Conducting oral presentations/ speaking  in  public; managing a library's major department/branch; training/ supervising  personnel  for  more  than three (3) years; using automated circulation systems (must specify on application).
