The Palm Beach County Library System has many resources available to help individuals and businesses affected by COVID-19. Ask-A-Librarian staff are available by phone, email and chat to help members who have questions or need assistance filling out unemployment/reemployment forms.

Paper unemployment applications in English, Spanish and Creole are available to pick up library branch locations.

The Department of Economic Opportunity helpline number is 833-352-7759 (833-FL-APPLY). People who need assistance filing a claim online because of legal reasons, computer illiteracy, language barriers, or disabilities may call 800-681-8102. CareerSource Palm Beach County offices in West Palm Beach and Belle Glade are open. Call 561-340-1600 (West Palm Beach) or 561-829-2040 (Belle Glade) or visit www.careersourcepbc.com/contact-us.
You will be required to provide the following information, so have it handy when you begin your application:
  • Social Security Number
  • State driver’s license or ID
  • Last 18 months’ employment information
    • Employer’s name, address, telephone number
    • Employment start date and end date
    • Gross earnings
    • Reason for separation
  • Work Authorization (if not U.S. Citizen)
  • DD-24 for Military
  • SF8 or SF50 for Federal Employees
