****LANDMARK AUDIO**LANDMARK AUDIO*****

"I need to add my leased CD items but the only bib record appears to be for a cassette. May I add the CD copies to the bib record for cassettes?" (No. This is similar to books in regular and large print.)

"The only audio book record I see is a permanent record. May I add my Landmark copies to the permanent record?" (Yes, as long as it is an exact match. Also, send any additional Landmark information to be added to the bib record to Tech. Services.)

Landmark audio books are handled in a similar manner to McNaughtons, but with a bit of a twist. While we do need to know what titles to add to Unicorn, the format (such as cassette or CD) is also important. We receive a list of titles by format from Landmark. We then catalog and load the "rental" audio books approximately two weeks before the orders are physically received system wide. Once the items are received at each location, the items are added to the appropriate bib record the same way as the McNaughtons.

Since we don't see the items here in Technical Services, we are unaware of what is received at your location. If you check Unicorn and can't find a title or the appropriate format is not listed, the following information needs to be e-mailed to Donna Anderson in Technical Services (andersond@pbclibrary.org):

• Title
• Author
• Landmark number (6 digit number)
• ISBN
• Type of format (cassette or CD)
• Number of pieces (tapes or CDs)

Searching for a sound recording in Unicorn:

Besides searching by Landmark number and ISBN you may also locate audio books by title in Unicorn. Just add "and sound" to the search string and you'll get a hit list of only those titles that are sound recordings (either cassette or CD).

Title: 3rd degree and sound
Retrieves: 3rd degree [sound recording]
and/or: 3rd degree [sound recording (CD)]
