Welcome to this EXTRA issue of TechNews
Bulletin. While we were preparing TechNews on
the Road questions concerning searching options for the new
formats were received and TechNews Bulletin came to
mind as a way to offer searching assistance.
One way staff might look at a list of either DVDs or Books on CD is
through Boolean.
fi ti videorecording DVD or
fi ti sound recording CD
These search strings pick up the material designations we put in the
bibliographic record with the titles. However, please be aware that
there may be additional titles that crop up with the searches that
are not part of these two collections. You may see a video title
that is on DVD repair or a sound recording that includes CD in the
title.
Staff and patrons may also search by form (using a subject search)
under Books on CD and DVD:
s=books on cd or
s=dvd

access points to these new formats.
