Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Sites |

100 percent FREE TAX-PREPARATION SERVICE for those who earned $49,000 or less in 2010! |
 Free Income-Tax Assistance is available for low to moderate-income taxpayers - defined as those taxpayers with income levels at or below the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) guidelines; for example, those whose household income is at $49,000 or below. In addition, if you earned less than $43,352 you may be eligible for up to $5,666 in EITC.
Locations, hours of operations and special services offered such as translators or services to help individuals who are disabled, are listed on the following pages. Some sites work by appointment only. The sites are listed alphabetically by city. All of the following sites will e-file your return.
Please remember that the people helping you are volunteers and are not being paid. So please be patient.
Please bring the following items to the VITA sites to make it easier to prepare your return:
- Last year’s Federal Income Tax Return (2010 income tax return)
- Social Security Cards for you, your spouse (if married), and all dependents
- Correct birth dates for all names that appear on the return
- All W-2’s for 2010, including spouses
- Form 1098 – Mortgage interest, property taxes
- Form 1099- DIV, G, INT, MISC, Q, R, RRB, SSA for 2011
- Voided check and savings account number for direct deposit of your refund (This is optional, but it gets your cash to you fast)
- A Photo ID card (drivers license, etc.), including spouse’s, if married and filing joint returns
- For Dependent Care Credit, bring care provider’s name, address, SSN/EIN, and amount you paid
- For Education credits, bring 1098T or 1098E and amount paid for qualified expenses
If married and filing a joint return, both spouses must come to the VITA site.
VITA volunteers will NOT prepare Schedule D (Complex), Schedule E, Employee Business Expenses, Moving Expenses, Nondeductible IRA, Minor’s Investment Income. |

AARP Tax Sites
The American Association for Retired Persons (AARP) also offers free tax service and preparation. The AARP Tax-Aide program offers this service to low and middle income tax payers, with special attention to those 60 and over.
The AARP Tax-Aide program offers free one-on-one counseling, as well as assistance on the telephone and internet (www.aarp.org) to help individuals prepare basic tax forms, including the 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ and other standard schedules.
AARP Tax-Aide is a program of the AARP Foundation, in conjunction with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Funding comes from federal grants, AARP, and individual donors.
