You’ve heard of the term “whirlwind courtship”? You will see exactly what that means in the story of Lyndon and Lady Bird Johnson. During their married years, “Bird” grew into an astute business woman and Lyndon became known as the “The Master of the Senate.” Thus it was not a surprise that, when he became the 36th president, his administration passed more important legislation in less time than any since FDR.

The story of the Johnsons, set amidst the backdrop of civil strife, the Vietnam War and the Space Race, comes to life in vivid detail by the veteran acting and writing team of husband and wife William and Sue Wills. This talented couple has portrayed the lives of the presidents and their wives for 14 years, appearing at eight of the nation’s Presidential Museums and Historic Sites and on C-Span Television. The Wills performances have been a staple of the Library System’s programming schedule for 10 years.

LBJ 2This free, one-hour program is funded by the Friends of the Palm Beach County Library System. Due to space limitations, seating for the performances will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Call the location of your choice for preregistration or ticket information. Don’t miss out on this “must see” event of the winter season!
