National Gaming Day: November 2010

Bookmark and Share

National Gaming DayThe Palm Beach County Library System will join hundreds of other libraries across the country to participate in the American Library Association’s 3rd Annual National Gaming Day on Nov 13. In 2009, more than 31,000 people of all ages played games in libraries on National Gaming Day, more than twice the number in 2008. The goal is to double the number of participants this year.

This year’s event will again include a national video game tournament (Rock Band and Super Smash Bros. Brawl), as well as board games and other activities.

Gaming at the library encourages patrons of all ages to interact with diverse peers, share their expertise and develop new strategies for gaming and learning. Kids can socialize with their friends and play board and video games while surrounded by books, librarians, and a real world of knowledge.
