6th Annual Family Picnic

Stormy Weather!
Seventy brave souls weathered a stormy Saturday and came to the 6th Annual Family Literacy Picnic at John Prince Park sponsored by Library Literacy Friends, Inc. The hosts were the Learner Leaders. Stan Bowers and Yves Joseph prepared tasty hotdogs, hamburgers, and sausage with peppers and onions. Donet Dawes provided a wonderful sound system and great music. The children loved seeing Patrick Connors perform his feats of magic. Paula Alexander, Literacy*AmeriCorps member, and her daughter Catalina set up a festive children’s area for arts and crafts. The hit of the picnic was Catalina leading the children throughout the pavilion doing the Cha-Cha dance!
