Partial Reopening of the Main Library

On Monday, January 7 at 9:00 am the Palm Beach County Main Library at 3650 Summit Blvd. in West Palm Beach will reopen to the public. Construction will continue in the children and teen area and as a result, the CreationStation and the computer lab will not be available.

The Library will offer the following services:

  • Public computers with internet, printers and copiers
  • Adult books, DVDs, audiobooks, and music CDs
  • Enhanced study space
  • Placing and Pick up of holds
  • Temporarily reduced collection of children’s and teen books, DVDs, audiobooks and music CDs
  • Voter registration
  • Microfilm/microfiche
  • New library cards as well as library card renewals
  • Public faxing service
  • Wi-Fi
  • Research assistance
  • Readers Advisory
  • Proctoring
  • Purchase of tote bags, flash drives and ear buds
  • SEFLIN One Cards issued
  • Assistance with digital collection of books, magazines, music, audiobooks and films
  • Access to, Foundation Directory online and dozens of library electronic resources

The Library closed in September for renovations. Improvements include resurfaced parking lots, painting, air conditioning, roof replacement on the west and south portions of the building and four new study rooms. Additional construction on an expanded children’s area and new teen room are nearing completion. The budget for the project is $2.755 million.
