Exploring Florida: A Viva Florida 500 Lecture Series

For National Library Week, we invite you to explore Florida and the state’s rich cultural history with a week-long lecture series. These lectures are part of our year-long commemoration of Florida’s 500th anniversary.

Eliot Kleinberg’s “Weird Florida”

From cows in the Intracoastal Waterway to haunted airliners to celebrity sex scandals: it all happens in Florida. Is there a weirder state? Kleinberg, author and writer for “The Palm Beach Post,” will take you on a romp through the wacky side of the Sunshine State with humorous anecdotes and a multimedia presentation. (60 min.) Palm Beaches in the Year 1513
