Disclaimer: The information provided by the
Consumer
Health Information Service (CHIS) or any other health-related
information provided by the Palm Beach County Library System (PBCLS)
does not imply medical recommendation, endorsement or approval by
either the CHIS or the PBCLS. The CHIS and the PBCLS do not provide
medical advice or interpretation of information. Information and
materials provided are intended for use as general information and
should not be used as a substitute for consultation with a health
care provider.
Materials Selection: The Library has
implemented a Library Web Site to provide a friendly, useful
access point to the Library’s resources and information on the
Internet; to provide reference and research tools to help
library users find what they need quickly and efficiently; and
to provide a set of pre-selected sites and resources that are
reliable and safe for all library users.
The
CHIS librarians do not write health information, except to
provide brief descriptions of the website links. Instead, CHIS
librarians find, select, and organize full-text consumer health
information that is current, relevant, accurate and unbiased.
Privacy Policy: You do not have to provide any
personal information to visit this web site. We do not ask for
information that will allow us to identify you personally unless you
choose to provide such information to us.
To help us improve the site, we collect statistics
about its usage. None of this information identifies individual
users or associates individuals with the pages they visit. When
inquiries are e-mailed to us, we store the question and the e-mail
address so we can respond electronically, if required. We may ask
users to volunteer information for statistical purposes related to
funding. This information is optional; our e-mail service is not
contingent on the user providing this information to us. This
information is tabulated and quantified in the most general sense
and does not identify individual users.
Florida Public Records Law: Under Florida law, e-mail addresses
are public records. If you do not want your e-mail address
released in response to a public records request, do not send
electronic mail to this entity. Instead, contact this office by
phone or in writing.
