Electronic Books @ your
library
The Palm Beach County Library System offers an electronic collection of over 27,000
popular nonfiction and classic literature titles that library patrons can access over
the Internet. These are full-text electronic versions of published books which can
be easily searched and read online. The collection covers all subject areas, with
emphasis on information technology, business, history, health/medicine, sociology,
literature, and religion.
Many of these eBooks now appear in the Library’s web catalog. Please look
for the eBook icon when searching the catalog and follow the “View Book”
link to the title.

The Library’s NetLibrary eBook collection
features a diverse collection of eBooks supplemented by more than 4,000
public domain titles, featuring political texts and classics in literature
and history. The Library recently expanded this collection with an
information technology set. eBooks by leading technology publishers about
popular software suites and programming languages are now available. As
an added feature, a dictionary is embedded into NetLibrary eBooks allowing
users to access a definition, and visual or verbal pronunciation, simply
by double-clicking on a word.
With an individual account, patrons may
check out NetLibrary eBook titles from Internet computers at any Library
branch, or from home or work via the Internet. eBooks are checked out for
a four hour period; a book will be returned automatically at the end of the
check-out period. If the title is not being used, it may be checked out
again. There is no limit to the number of times an eBook may be borrowed.
