Black History Month Proclamation

The Palm Beach County Library System received a proclamation from Mayor Mack Bernard declaring February 2019 as Black History Month in Palm Beach County. The award was presented during the Board of County Commissioners meeting on Feb 05.

Black History Month is a time to celebrate the many achievements and contributions made by Black Americans to our Nation’s economic, cultural, spiritual and political development. The observance of Black History Month calls our Nation’s attention to the continued need to battle racism and to build a society that lives up to its democratic ideals.

The Palm Beach County Library System is celebrating Black History Month with events and seminars, along with musical and dance performances to highlight the wide and deep cultural legacy that Black Americans have built in the United States. Visit our website for Black History Month events.
