Get Crafty

March is National Craft Month and we have many opportunities to celebrate with crafting activities and workshops for children, teens and adults. Whether you are a seasoned crafter or a beginner, there is something that will appeal to your crafty side. Many locations offer knitting, crochet and sewing circles where you can sit and stitch, meet new people, and share your knowledge with others who are just learning the necessary skills.

Many of these needle working classes are available for all ages, as well as our coloring clubs. Coloring is a fun activity that fosters creativity and has stress-relieving benefits. Join other coloring enthusiasts for a session and color beautiful pictures, mandalas and more.

Adults can discover calligraphy with Chinese brush while enjoying the aroma and taste of Chinese tea. You can also learn doodling in the Zentangle® style to create works of art. Sit in on one of our art workshops to learn the basics of watercolor, or join an open session that provides time and space for you to shape your vision into a finished work of art.

Upcycle empty wine bottles into pretty painted vases or arrange an assortment of mosaic tiles to create beautiful coasters or a decorative trivet. Create a memory page with photos or string the bits and pieces of your life together to craft your memoir. Organize your photos and record your memories by using scrapbooking techniques and materials.

Kids can participate in crafty activities to celebrate various March activities including Dr. Seuss’ birthday, St. Patrick’s Day, spring and more. In addition, various materials will be used including buttons, beads, cereal, duct tape, finger paints, paper, shells and stickers.

Teens also have a variety of activities on tap to foster their creative side with an array of classes on nail art, crochet, duct tape, sewing and more.

See the complete list of classes, workshops and clubs to find what crafty adventures are available at your local branch.
