Quickbyte: HERE Maps

Picture this scenario: you are on the road (driving, riding a bike, or walking) and you need directions. You program a mapping app, such as Google Maps, and are getting step-by-step directions when suddenly you lose your connection. With no idea of where you are, you’re stuck with randomly making turns, getting more and more lost.

If this has ever happened to you, then HERE Maps might be the perfect app for you. Available for free for both iOS devices and Android, the app provides offline navigation. While other apps allow the user to download a map for offline use, HERE Maps gives you turn-by-turn instructions whether you’re connected to Wi-Fi/cell service or not. The app offers the highest number of maps available for download than any other mapping apps, better indoor views of malls, museums, and other public buildings, and real time traffic and public transportation views for over 700 cities worldwide.

Whether you’re traveling on vacation, or simply trying to navigate your way to a friend’s house, HERE Maps could be the right tool for you.
