The Friends of the Palm Beach County Library System Present: Presidents and Their First Ladies, Dramatically Speaking: Ronald and Nancy Reagan

Ronald Reagan may seem to have had the most unusual background of any American president, but he actually came to the office with great executive experience having headed the Screen Actors Guild union and then as governor of California. His eight years as president were filled with notable events: the beginning of the collapse of the Soviet Union, a tremendous economic recovery, the rise of Islamic terrorism, and the Iran-Contra affair. Beside him was his loving wife Nancy, who had to struggle as a mother to a blended family, suffer through the assassination attempt on her husband, and eventually deal with her own physical difficulties. Theirs is truly a great love story.

The story of Reagan’s time in the White House with his first lady, Nancy, is brought to life by the veteran acting and writing team of husband and wife, William and Sue Wills. Their engaging performance is a “must see” for history buffs, students and anyone interested in human-interest stories.

Seating for this free, one-hour program is limited. Preregistration begins Tue, Jan 05, at 10:00 am, in person, or online at www. pbclibrary.org/presidents-2016.
